Stuff I've designed and 3D printed

I acquired a 3D printer (Bambu A1 Mini) June 2025. I've been asked about things that I have designed and printed, so here is a mostly complete list.

Contents

Household

Purifier air redirector

Difficulty: medium

Used to redirect the air from a purifier towards the room rather than straight up.

This was used when the purifier was mounted in a window for fresh air during the summer when wildfire smoke was present.

The rear panel blocks any unfiltered air from entering through the window.

Faucet extender

Difficulty: medium

Dumbest thing I've had to design and print. Previous owners had a contractor install new faucets (among other defects) that pour water 1cm away from the edge of the countertop. This extends the water a reasonable distance.

I added a vertical stopper to prevent my daughter from activating water that is too hot.

Wall outlet cover mount

Difficulty: hard

Covers the wall outlet, as well as provides Ikea Skadis-compatible pegboard to mount SKADIS accessories (like a SKADIS-MagSafe charger holder).

The thing on the top is a GridFinity receptacle which I didn't end up using for anything.

Marker holder

Difficulty: easy

Daughter's whiteboard did not come with a marker holder. Took 10 minutes to design and 30 minutes to print.

Window-specific

Window blinds holder

Difficulty: easy

When a window is open, the wind from outside can cause the blinds to buffet and hit the windowframe, causing noise. This prevents it from doing that.

Window fan → ducting adaptor

Difficulty: hard

For reasons※, I needed to adapt this window fan to round ducting. Difficult because I had to get it to precisely mount to the window fan grill.

※ - Needed cold outside air to go directly into our condo fan coil unit.

Updated window fan → ducting adaptor

Difficulty: easy

The previous window fan was large and ugly. I replaced it by using 2x 140mm USB fans and mounting to a 160mm-wide plastic insert (that can also be 3D printed if needed).

Easy to do this because the adaptor just needed to be screwed into the plastic insert.

In the summer, I don't need fresh air connected to the fan coil unit so I'll print a grill to cover the fans.

Personal

Mac Mini multi-drive mount

Difficulty: medium

Mac Mini is already wall-mounted (left photo), but has 3 USB drives plugged into it. This mount (middle photo) attaches to the side of the mini and holds 3 drives (+ USB-C hub) so that everything is wall-mounted (right photo).

Toiletry holder
